The American Association of Information Technology Professionals (AAITP) is an internationally acclaimed organization for students, researchers, professionals and industry experts in the field or associated with the field of Information Technology and Computer Science. We believe in equal access to information for everyone. All our memberships are free of cost. This membership gives you access to world-class content led by industry experts, the opportunity to enter our awards, the ability to publish a journal or research paper, network with other professionals, etc.
We offer two membership levels:
- Basic Membership – Open to all IT professionals, students, and enthusiasts looking to grow, learn, and network.
- Fellowship Membership – A prestigious recognition awarded to distinguished IT professionals with outstanding contributions to the field.
Basic Membership
Who Can Join?
AAITP welcomes IT professionals at all career levels, including students, early-career professionals, and industry experts. Whether you are looking to expand your knowledge, connect with industry leaders, or contribute to IT advancements, AAITP provides valuable resources and opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
- Work Experience: Suitable for individuals with less than 5 years of work experience in IT.
- Professional Background: Must be either:
- A student studying in the field of Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS) or a related discipline.
- A working professional currently employed in the IT industry or in the associated collaboration with the IT or computer industry.
Note: There are no fees for membership, and anyone meeting the above criteria can join for free.
Fellowship Membership
Who Can Join?
AAITP Fellows are industry leaders, innovators, and thought leaders who shape the future of IT through their expertise and influence. Eligible candidates include professionals with a proven track record of impact, leadership, and recognition in IT, whether through technological innovation, policy influence, or global recognition.
Fellowship applicants must meet at least one of the distinguished criteria outlined below to qualify.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for AAITP Fellowship, applicants must meet one or more of the following distinguished criteria:
- Distinguished Contribution:
Proven and sustained contributions to the IT field through innovation, leadership, and measurable impact on the profession or society.
- Thought Leadership:
A demonstrated role in shaping strategies, policies, or visions for organizations or communities in the IT sector.
- Recognition and Awards:
Receipt of significant national or international recognition for excellence in IT, engineering, or allied disciplines. Awards must be merit-based, with clear judging criteria (paid awards are not considered).
Fellowship Levels
AAITP offers three tiers of Fellowship:
- Fellow: Meets at least one of the eligibility criteria.
- Senior Fellow: Meets at least two of the eligibility criteria.
- Distinguished Fellow: Meets all three eligibility criteria.
Note: Meeting the requirements does not guarantee Fellowship. The AAITP panel evaluates each application holistically to ensure the highest standards of excellence.
Activity-Based Engagement Requirement
Fellows are expected to actively contribute to the IT community. To maintain Fellowship status, members must complete at least 10 activities annually from the following categories:
- Marketing, Events & Webinars: Participate as a speaker or panelist in at least two AAITP-hosted events annually and/or part of committee members helping to grow AAITP.
- Publications: Contribute at least two scholarly or professional articles to AAITP's knowledge repository or external journals (must be exclusive and unique to AAITP).
- Mentorship: Mentor at least two professionals or students under AAITP's structured mentorship program (coming soon)
- Community Engagement: Organize or participate in at least one IT/STEM outreach or educational initiative.
- Special Contributions: Engage in whitepaper drafting, policy advocacy, or initiatives promoting diversity and ethics in IT.

Evaluation & Review Process
- Submission: Candidates submit a detailed application showcasing their eligibility, achievements, and contributions.
- Evaluation: Applications for Fellow membership undergo a comprehensive review by the Fellow Selection Committee based on defined metrics.
- Approval: Final decisions are made by the AAITP Board to ensure adherence to standards.
- Annual Review: Fellows must submit an annual report detailing their contributions to maintain their status.
Membership Renewal & Participation Guidelines
- Basic Membership: No formal renewal is required, but active participation in AAITP activities is encouraged.
- Fellowship Membership: Fellows must complete required activities annually to maintain their status. (Details about the process and application coming soon)
- Upgrade to Fellowship: Basic members who meet the eligibility criteria over time can apply for AAITP Fellowship to gain additional recognition and benefits.
